Expert Post Survey -- AI for children

General problem: Ethical by design in AI for children is missing which raises concerns.In order to address this issue analysis of risks and values for proper alignment is riquired.

Challenges: many disciplines are involved, each with their own vocabulary and no shared framework --> This creates an interdisciplinary communication gap.

Thesis aim:

• Understand the AI applications that will take step into next the generations childhood
• Identify AI core risks for children and main values founding an ethical by design AI
• Propose and test a new method using a workshop to fill the interdisciplinary communication gap with special regard to risks and value assesment

How: Fisrt, desk research will collect relevant risks, values and criterias. The collected risks will be shaped into narratives, so to lower the communication threshold, with the aim of increasing the participants'understanding during the survey and workshop's tasks.

Aim of method: Observe the perceived importance of narratives before and after the workshop, determining whether there has been an effect (a change and/or an alignment of perspectives) during interdisciplinary interaction in the workshop.
